My entire family is under attack and has been threatened once again by the endless crud that has embedded itself into our school. It's so yuck. Half my class was MIA last week with this yuck-o-la stuff and now...it's happened. Brooklyn got it on Monday...still out from school today. And when I picked up Hudson today from school...yup, you guessed it..."Mama..my head huuuuurts. Baaaaaaaad!" Poor little dude. He even turned down vanilla wafers & baked Lays for an after school snack! I knew there was something wrong then because the child doesn't turn down junk! He layed around on the couch for about an hour and then came waddling into me and wanted a cuddle. When I picked him up he was on FIRE! 101 was the temp. Brooklyn topped out at 102 yesterday. My hope at this point is to just get them both clear and keep myself healthy until Friday. I leave Friday night for Vegas and I MUST NOT BE ILL! JD will NOT be happy if I show up Sat night w/ a barf bag. And don't put it past me. I refuse to miss this show.
In other news. I'm off tonight...I hope. For a shopping excursion and a new do. I need to get out of the bubble I've been living in for the last 3 days and get my goods together for the trip. I also desperately need a wax and a do. I need to stock the fridge & the pantry before I leave, because heaven knows Mark would not even begin to figure out how to do that AND take care of the children at the same time. So, I'll do it for him. Make his world nice & comfy before he flies solo for the next 5 days.
I hate that I've missed school this week. It sounds funny because I know most people really don't mind not going to work for a few days...even if it is to swim in vomit but I am one of the lucky earlings who actually enjoys my work. I miss my little dudes when I'm not there to teach them their ABC's. I know the subs and my aide are perfectly capable of handling things when I'm gone...but I just miss getting hugs and hearing all the cute little stories the kids come up with. And let me tell ya...you'd be amazed at what they will share with their PreK teacher. :) Funny lil' things.
K-well, nothing earth shattering to share. No fun pictures or cool tag games or anything ...just me. On a Wednesday.
