comin' atcha live from 35...I-35. as i look out the window i see car dealerships, a pancho's billboard, a shell station, ahhh, yes, there it is...my familar Temple Starbucks....and there it goes...Mark didn't stop..what the heck does he think he's doing? if he expects me to make it 15 hours in the minivan with two children hopped up on cheetos & capri sun then he better manuver this puppy into some sort of gourmet coffee house....i refuse to get my coffee at the shamrock....call me high maintance..whatever, but seriously, it's bad enough i have to pee in rest stops and eat nothing but mcdonald's for the next 24 hours.
road trips .... i love them, alone or with another adult. However, not so much w/ young children. the whole dynamic of a road trip changes...it's actually not even appropriate to call it a road trip...to me that signifies something more than breaking up sibling squabbles and fishing through animal crackers to find the lost episode of sponge bob or aloha scooby doo. road trips, in college meant...some seriously good music, a car full of my closest friends, a couple bags of Dave' sunflower seeds and a 12 pack of Mt. dew. but i will admit that i seriously enjoy teaching the kids old school car games. we try the alphabet game....but hudson gets hacked off because brooke beats him...disadvantages of being only 4 and still trying to master identifying the alphabet. fun though.
so we'll see how far we make it tonight. we have a reservation to stay just north of ft. worth. the kids are sleeping NOW so you know they won't sleep when we get to the hotel...nice.
so i'll check in when i get spare time. enjoy your holiday weekend!
