That's right folks. A great day here in S. Texas. We headed out to the Alamo Bowl this afternoon. Nothing better than being surrounded by good friends in a sea of burnt orange. We had a great time. Though I must admit we had a little hike to our seats. Though no one else seemed to complain...just the pregnant girl who had to hike them several times since I had to pee 89,000 times. After a bit I had to limit my fluid intake. And to top it off the toilets weren't flushing for like the 1st quarter of the game! But even that didn't put a damper on things. It was a great game even if I didn't get to see this:
Yes, I was slightly disappointed that Matthew wasn't there. I guess after witnessing the Rose Bowl last year this just didn't measure up? I would like to think he's still out promoting We Are Marshall but who the heck knows. I was hoping he'd show up w/ his bongo drums and entertain us at half time but no such luck. :( :( :(
The game ended up pretty close. But we pulled off a 2 point win so it made the lack of Matthew and the clogged toilets worthwhile.
In other news today we got a new kitten. Yes, I realize i've already reported that...but we got a NEW new kitten. Austin (so appropriately named by the way) had to be returned to PetsMart today. It was rather sad and Brooklyn had a hard time letting him go. However, we've had him a mere 9 days and for 9 days he's left his own little presents underneath my Christmas tree. Even though they said he was litterbox trained he just couldn't get that concept down in my house. As long as he was confined to the utility room he would use his box but as soon as I'd let him out ...under the tree he would go. And then to top it off i realized he had worms. I can't handle worms in an animal. it really freaks me out and as common as this is i just was furious that i had adopted this new little dude and he wasn't healthy. So I contacted the animal shelter and the lady told me i was welcome to a refund or to exchange him. I hated having the feeling that we were giving up on him but i just couldn't have him peeing on my new carpet. Sooo, today bright and early we headed out in search of a new kitty. We found a little girl...much younger. She is only 8 weeks old and is itty bitty. Adorable little thing. She's black & white and rather rambunctious although she's not came out much since we've been home. As a matter of fact as soon as we let her out of her little cat taxi she bolted across the kitchen floor, found the utilty room and has been behind the washer & dryer since. I just left her in there w/ her food, water, litterbox & bed and shut the door. I never got a chance to sit her in her box but i checked on her after about an hour and she'd already discovered her box and used it. She came out again tonight and used it again so i'm THRILLED that she figured it out by herself. I hope the trend continues. :) :) At first Brooklyn wanted to name her Sophie....which was our last cat's name. But I talked her out of that and she decided on Isabelle...and we're going to call her Izzy ( my suggestion and tribute to my fave show...Grey's Anatomy) :)
So, we've had a busy and fun day around here. exciting......even w/out Matthew & his bongo drums. :)
