i used this same post title last summer when i was typing up a post on the way to Missouri....and because i lack in the unique naming of the blog post skillz i will re-use, re-do and recycle the name again...in an effort to be more green. :)
let's see where i am exactly......exit #51 in Oklahoma...turner falls exit. not much to see thru this great midwestern neighbor of ours.....i will admit that our new route straight to rolla up 35 and over to 44 seems a bit faster but a small...very small...part of me misses our old route up 69. you hit every small town along the way but it was a tad more interesting to look at while driving through.
making matters increasingly boring....the ipod is dead. so i'm waiting for it to recharge...and while doing so thought i'd drop in for a quick post.
we're suppose to stop and stay the night somewhere tonight...maybe dallas/fort worth area. but i know my husband and usually if he makes it that far he'll keep going until he's hanging on the brink of exhaustion and we'll push through. however, i am not allowing that tonight. i rescheduled and important meeting i had set up for tomorrow because he told me last week we wouldn't be driving straight through...so i'll be a bit bitter if he decideds he wants to push on and make it straight through. we shall see. i would like to stop around dinner time....another hour or so. no later than 7pm.
the wedding went off without a hitch. it did start to drizzle a bit during the ceremony but it passed quickly and didn't seem to bother anyone. it was a beautiful ceremony. i took a ton of photos and brooklyn and hudson looked darling. brooklyn got her hair done that day and was so excited about it. we had a good time. the reception was fun. i got to see a few friends i hadn't seen in a while..so it was nice.
yesterday one of my best friends and college roommates came down from Lake of the Ozarks with her 1yr old son who I'd not had the pleasure of meeting yet. Little Brady Afton won me over with his big brown eyes and beautiful blonde hair. He looks so much like his daddy and is just as sweet as his mommy. we had lunch together and then dinner later and then amy took brady to her dad's and got him settled for the evening and I sent my two oldest kiddos off w/ grandma to watch shrek and amy and i got together later in the evening for a few drinks and some girl talk. i miss her like mad....i miss all my girlfriends from college so much and coming home is always bittersweet because if i get to see them i'm so happy but then leaving is always twice as hard. i hate it. we had a great time talking and laughing and i hate that we cant' do it more. we're talking about all getting together next summer though....so that'll give me something to look forward too. :)
well, i'm sure i'll be losing my signal sometime soon so i should close. hope to post pics of the wedding later this week! :)
