so nice to get away for the weekend for some relaxation. well, as much relaxing as you can do w/ 3 kids. (i'm still trying to get use to that...3 kids) :) it was a nice weekend. the kids did great on the way down. i never one time had to threaten to leave them at a reststop with the truckers. once they all got over the fact that i didn't pack their pillows so they could nap in the car, it was smooth sailing. parker...never a peep. we stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn which was about 10 minutes from Mustang Island and the beach. We headed straight to the beach on saturday when we got into town. it was hot but the water was great. you know, once you get past the salt, seaweed and the fact that you can't see anything in it....parker hung out on the beach most of the time. i put him in the water a couple times but he got a little freaked out by the waves. so we played in the sand alot. and he slept alot....such an easy little dude..just crashes out wherever. good stuff. brooklyn and hudson had alot of fun and did great. i could breathe easier than the last time we were at the beach since they've had swim lessons two summers in a row now. just makes it easier to put down the margaritas and not have to worry about being too drunk to administer CPR if needed....TOTALLY kidding! we had to head to a tourist trap of a store to load up on beach supplies since i'm so lame and totally didn't plan ahead and forgot our own beach toys at home.
he looks adorable in his goggles too. goofy adorable does't he?
that night we headed downtown to the big honkin' park as brooklyn so lovingly referred to it at one point. we didn't let them play long as we soon realized we were surrounded by some pretty shady characters but they enjoyed the swings in between the crack cocain deals that were going on.
before we headed home on monday mark took the kids to the USS Lexington (no pictures because he can barely remember to make sure they have regular meals at proper intervals of time let alone take a camera and document an event in their life) when i asked Hudson what they did on the big ship he said, "we went to the bathroom and ate dorritos." great! so glad you got something out of that! after the ship we hit the Texas State Aquarium and I caught this shot of the kids heading in....this doesn't happen that often anymore so i had to look at it a good 10-12 times on replay on the LCD on the camera on the way home.
the aquarium was great. they've made alot of improvements to it sinc the last time i was there. our neighbor took a family picture of us and i swear to you i almost forgot to get parker out of the stroller! it's so weird having 3 kids! i know...i suck. :)
